Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has leased a commercial property he owns in Mumbai’s Bandra East area to HDFC Bank for a starting monthly rent of ₹11.75 lakh (£11,000 approx.), according to property registration documents reviewed by real estate platform Square Yards.

The agreement, registered in February 2026, relates to a unit in Trade Centre BKC, located near the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), one of the city’s key business districts.

Square Yards said the lease is for a period of nine years. The rent will begin at ₹11.75 lakh per month for the first three years, with a 15% escalation after each three-year term. The agreement includes a security deposit of ₹70.50 lakh.

The unit has a carpet area of 2,700 sq ft (around 251 sq m) and comes with three dedicated car parking spaces.

According to registration records, Mr Sood purchased the commercial property in October 2012 for ₹24.25 crore. Based on the lease terms and acquisition price, the transaction translates into an average annual rental yield of about 6.7% over the lease period, Square Yards said.

Bandra is regarded as one of Mumbai’s most sought-after real estate markets, offering a mix of premium residential and commercial developments. The locality benefits from connectivity through the Western Express Highway, suburban rail services and upcoming Metro lines, and is close to business hubs such as BKC, Lower Parel and Mumbai’s international airport. It is also home to several prominent public figures.

Mr Sood, 52, has appeared in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films. He made his Hindi film debut in 2002 and is known for roles in films including Dabangg, Jodhaa Akbar and Simmba. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he gained widespread recognition for organising assistance for migrant workers and others affected by lockdowns.
