What began as a modest ₹10,000 venture in the 1970s has today grown into a ₹250 crore oral-care brand under the stewardship of third-generation entrepreneur Viren Khuller. STIM — known globally as Global Dent Aids Pvt Ltd — is now one of India’s leading manufacturers of toothbrushes, interdental brushes, mouthwash, floss and specialised dental-care kits.

The company was founded by Khuller’s grandfather, the late V.D. Khuller, who laid the groundwork for a homegrown oral-care enterprise. When Viren took over the family business in 2015, the company’s annual turnover stood at ₹80 crore. Over the next decade, he introduced new operational strategies, strengthened domestic sales, streamlined inventory, and modernised the business. By 2024, STIM’s turnover had tripled to ₹250 crore — a milestone driven by innovation, product expansion and disciplined execution.

Raised in Delhi, Khuller completed his schooling at Delhi Public School before earning a BBA in Management and Marketing from Long Island University, New York. Returning to India, he immersed himself in the family business and began implementing structural improvements within two years of joining.

Today, STIM operates four manufacturing plants in Noida, producing nearly 1.5 million toothbrushes every day and offering around 60 products tailored to children, teenagers, young adults and senior citizens. The company’s product lines include orthodontic solutions, kids’ brushes, denture products and complete dental kits.

A major driver of growth has been exports, which contribute 70% of the company’s revenue. STIM ships to markets such as the US, UK, Germany, Canada and Japan. The remaining 30% comes from India, where the brand sells through both offline channels and e-commerce platforms. Amazon and Flipkart account for 80% of its online sales, with the rest coming through its direct website.

STIM’s pricing strategy remains accessible, ranging from a ₹20 regular toothbrush to a ₹350 kids’ dental kit that includes a brush, toothpaste, floss, timer, cover and a free gift.

Viren Khuller’s journey illustrates how legacy family businesses can scale rapidly through modernisation, strategic expansion and a deep understanding of consumer needs.
