Hilton has announced the signing of its first five Hampton by Hilton hotels in India, marking the brand’s entry into the country through a strategic licensing partnership with NILE Hospitality. The move targets India’s fast-growing mid-market hospitality segment, driven by rising domestic travel and demand for quality yet affordable accommodation.
The initial phase will see Hampton by Hilton hotels open in Amritsar, Vrindavan, Raipur and Lonavala over the next two years. Two properties are planned in Amritsar, with one hotel each in the other three cities. Together, the five hotels will offer more than 350 rooms and are expected to strengthen Hilton’s footprint in emerging leisure, spiritual and business travel destinations.
Hampton by Hilton is one of Hilton’s largest and most successful brands globally, with more than 3,000 hotels worldwide. It has also been ranked the number one lodging franchise by Entrepreneur magazine for 16 consecutive years. Hilton said the India launch follows extensive consumer research, with the brand adapting its design, services and amenities to local preferences while retaining its core global standards.
The India-focused offering will include optimised room and bathroom layouts, fitness centres in every hotel and an enhanced focus on sleep quality through premium bedding. Food and beverage options will be tailored to regional tastes, with a regionally inspired breakfast menu, a 24-hour coffee station and a new full-service restaurant concept, “Sunny Sides”, created specifically for the brand’s India expansion.
Clarence Tan, Hilton’s senior vice president for development in Asia Pacific, said the signings reflected strong confidence in India’s hospitality growth and the long-term partnership with NILE Hospitality. Brand leaders at Hilton said Hampton’s hallmark of friendly, reliable service—known as “Hamptonality”—would remain central, alongside thoughtful local customisation.
Vikram Singh Chauhan, founder and chief executive of NILE Hospitality, said the selected destinations reflect strong demand fundamentals, where leisure, spiritual tourism and domestic business travel intersect, and where quality midscale room supply remains limited.
All Hampton by Hilton hotels in India will participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty programme, offering members digital check-in, flexible payment options and exclusive benefits.
