Treebo Hospitality Ventures (THV) has strengthened its business development leadership as India’s mid-market hotel segment continues to expand faster than other categories within the hospitality industry.

The Bengaluru-based company announced the appointments of two senior hospitality professionals, Sanoj Santhosh Lal and Nikhil Joshi, as Regional Heads for Mid-Market Development. The move comes amid rising demand for branded and standardised hotel offerings, driven by business travel, religious tourism and increasing domestic mobility.

Mr Lal will oversee mid-market development across South India, a region that industry analysts identify as one of the most promising growth markets for hospitality. With more than 20 years of experience across Indian and international hotel groups, he has been associated with THV’s development function since 2016 and has played a key role in expanding its portfolio.

Mr Joshi will lead development efforts in West India. He brings experience across operations, marketing, brand systems and commercial roles, having worked with hotel groups such as The Orchid, Kamat Hotels, Concept Hospitality, Clarks Group, The Chancery Group and Spree Hotels.

Together, the two executives will be responsible for expanding THV’s mid-market footprint across its own brand, Medalio, as well as licensed international brands operated in partnership with Accor, including Ibis and Mercure.

India’s mid-market hotel category has emerged as the strongest-performing segment in recent years, supported by steady domestic travel and demand from Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Industry observers note that hotel owners are increasingly seeking brands that offer operational consistency, predictable returns and flexible partnership structures.

THV said the combined leadership of Mr Lal and Mr Joshi would support its long-term growth strategy and reinforce an owner-first approach. The company offers multiple operating models, including management contracts and revenue-share arrangements, allowing hotel owners to choose structures aligned with their investment goals.

Commenting on the appointments, Sidharth Gupta, Co-founder and Chief Executive of THV, said the mid-market segment remained central to the company’s expansion plans. He added that the experience of the two leaders would help deliver long-term value across Medalio, Ibis and Mercure.

Mr Lal said the company’s mid-market strategy was focused on feasibility, consistency and long-term partnerships, with an emphasis on identifying high-potential micro-markets. Mr Joshi said owners were increasingly prioritising predictability and transparent processes, adding that the focus would be on structured evaluations and trust-based engagement.

THV said the leadership changes were aimed at strengthening its position in a segment expected to remain a key growth driver for India’s hospitality industry.
