Indian technology firm Wipro has announced one of its largest strategic transformation agreements, securing an eight-year contract with Singapore-based food and agri-business giant Olam Group.
The deal, valued at more than $1bn, includes a committed spend of $800m and will see Wipro deliver end-to-end digital and business transformation services. As part of the agreement, Wipro will also acquire Olam’s IT and digital services arm, Mindsprint, subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026.
Olam Group, a major global player in the food and agriculture sector with operations spanning the entire “farm-to-fork” supply chain, employs around 40,000 people worldwide. The company is majority owned by Singapore’s state investment firm Temasek Holdings.
Wipro said the partnership would focus on modernising Olam’s core operations using a consulting-led and artificial intelligence-driven approach. The company plans to deploy its proprietary AI platform to improve efficiency across key areas including farming, supply chain management, trading, forecasting and customer engagement.
Olam’s Chief Executive Sunny Verghese said the collaboration would help accelerate the company’s transformation efforts and strengthen its long-term competitiveness. He added that combining Mindsprint’s sector-specific expertise with Wipro’s global capabilities would create “powerful synergies” across the value chain.
Wipro’s CEO Srini Pallia described the agreement as a significant step in expanding the firm’s presence in the food and agri-business sector. He said the integration of Mindsprint would enhance Wipro’s ability to deliver industry-specific solutions and drive innovation for global clients.
The deal reflects growing demand for AI-led transformation in traditional industries seeking greater efficiency and resilience.
