Wipro Limited has announced the launch of a new AI-Native Business and Platforms Unit, as the technology firm seeks to expand its capabilities in artificial intelligence and accelerate future growth.
The company said the new division would complement its core services business and position it to compete in what it described as a “services as software” landscape. The move reflects a broader shift among global IT firms towards embedding AI into enterprise solutions and consulting offerings.
The unit will focus on developing enterprise-grade “agentic AI” systems—software platforms designed to operate with greater autonomy in managing complex business processes. It will also pursue an “invest-build-partner” model, working alongside Wipro Ventures and other partners to incubate new AI-led business streams.
As part of the initiative, the division will oversee a portfolio of existing platforms across industries, including lending, aviation, healthcare, and telecommunications, as well as internal delivery systems. The company said these assets would be scaled using dedicated engineering teams to deliver faster outcomes and enable more predictable, non-linear growth.
Chief Executive Srini Pallia said the launch marked a “strategic pivot” that would strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver measurable results for clients while unlocking new growth opportunities through AI-led platforms.
The company also announced leadership changes alongside the restructuring. Nagendra Bandaru has been appointed chief executive of the new unit, while Kanwar Singh joins the firm to lead its Technology Services Global Business Line.
The changes come into effect from 1 April 2026.
Wipro said the new structure would help it sharpen competitiveness, deepen its AI capabilities, and support clients undergoing digital transformation, as demand for intelligent automation and data-driven services continues to grow globally
