Himanshu Arya from Karnal, Haryana, chose to walk away from a secure banking career to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams. What began in 2009 with just two employees has today grown into two thriving companies with a combined turnover of over ₹160 crore. His story is one of persistence, vision, and resilience.
Born into a middle-class family, Arya’s parents were both government employees. Unlike his sister, who excelled academically, Himanshu admits he was not always a topper. However, he compensated with hard work and determination. After completing his MBA from IIMT Ghaziabad, he worked with Kotak Mahindra Bank and Citibank. But the desire to do something beyond a salaried job pushed him toward entrepreneurship. Today, he lives in Delhi with his wife, Shraddha Agarwal, and their two daughters. For Arya, success comes from believing in one’s idea and putting in relentless effort.
In 2009, Arya launched Grapes Worldwide, a digital marketing agency, starting with a two-member team. His wife Shraddha joined him in 2013, and together they grew the firm into one of India’s leading digital agencies. Grapes Worldwide today has a turnover of more than ₹120 crore and has worked with marquee clients like Flipkart, Mankind, and Bajaj Finance. While Arya has stepped away from day-to-day operations, Shraddha successfully manages the business, ensuring its continued growth.
After building a strong foundation in digital marketing, Arya turned to a completely new sector in 2024: pre-owned luxury cars. He founded Luxury Cart, headquartered in Gurugram, to make premium cars accessible to buyers with modest budgets. In just five months since its launch in November 2024, the company clocked a turnover of over ₹40 crore. Luxury Cart not only buys and sells pre-owned luxury cars but also offers warranty, service packages, and financing options to enhance customer experience.
The business of used luxury cars, however, is not without challenges. Quality control and avoiding “dead inventory” remain major hurdles. Arya himself once suffered heavy losses when a customer sold him a car with forged documents. Learning from such setbacks, Luxury Cart now focuses on stringent quality checks to ensure customers do not face problems for at least the first 15,000 kilometers of use.
Himanshu Arya’s journey underlines the power of persistence. His rise from a banker to the head of companies worth over ₹160 crore proves that setbacks are stepping stones and that success belongs to those willing to work tirelessly for their vision.
