Indian film producer and director Karan Johar has purchased a residential apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Khar West locality for ₹8.05 crore, according to property registration documents reviewed by real estate consultancy Square Yards. The transaction was registered in November 2025, based on records available on the Maharashtra Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website.

The apartment is located in Pali Vintage, a residential development in Khar West. As per the registration documents, the property has a carpet area of 1,060.13 sq ft (98.49 sq m) and includes two dedicated car parking spaces. The deal attracted a stamp duty payment of ₹48 lakh, along with registration charges of ₹30,000.

Khar West is considered one of Mumbai’s prime residential neighbourhoods, known for its central location and strong connectivity. The area is well linked to key business and commercial districts through major arterial roads such as Linking Road, SV Road and the Western Express Highway. It is also served by Khar Road railway station on the Western suburban line, providing access to both the city’s northern suburbs and South Mumbai.

Its proximity to Bandra, Santacruz and Andheri allows relatively smooth north–south movement across the city, while the Bandra–Worli Sea Link offers faster access to commercial hubs such as Bandra Kurla Complex and Lower Parel. Over the years, Khar West has developed into a sought-after residential enclave, marked by premium apartments, boutique housing projects and a cosmopolitan social environment. The locality is also home to upscale retail outlets, popular restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as reputed schools and healthcare facilities.

Karan Johar is one of the most prominent figures in the Hindi film industry. He is the founder of Dharma Productions and made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. He went on to direct several commercially successful and influential films, including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, My Name Is Khan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Beyond filmmaking, Johar has played a key role in launching new talent in Bollywood and remains a familiar television personality through his long-running talk show Koffee with Karan.
