Real estate developer Signature Global has announced plans to invest ₹380 crore in advanced earthquake-resistance technology across its ongoing and upcoming residential projects, as it looks to strengthen safety standards in high-rise housing.

The company said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth ₹380 crore with Indo-Italian joint venture CECO Hirun Pvt Ltd to adopt the specialised construction system. The technology, known as Hysteretic Tuned Mass Dampers (HTMDs), is designed to reduce structural vibrations in tall buildings caused by wind and seismic activity.

HTMDs work by controlling the movement of a structure during external shocks, improving overall stability while also enhancing comfort for residents. Signature Global said the technology would be deployed in around 80 to 100 high-rise residential towers over the coming years.

Focus on seismic safety

The move assumes particular significance in regions such as Delhi-NCR, which falls under Seismic Zone IV and is considered prone to earthquakes. According to the company, integrating vibration-control solutions at the design stage is essential to ensure long-term safety and structural resilience in densely populated urban centres.

Lalit Aggarwal, co-founder and vice-chairman of Signature Global, said the increasing vertical growth of Indian cities has placed greater responsibility on developers to prioritise safety alongside comfort and durability.

“Our collaboration with CECO Hirun brings together global engineering expertise and a deep understanding of local construction practices,” he said. “This allows us to integrate technically robust systems seamlessly into our building designs, delivering long-term value to residents.”

Growing real estate footprint

Signature Global is among India’s prominent residential real estate developers. As of September 2025, the company has delivered about 16 million square feet of real estate across multiple projects.

In the financial year ended March 2025, the developer reported sales bookings of ₹10,290 crore, reflecting strong demand, particularly in the affordable and mid-income housing segments.

CECO Hirun Pvt Ltd is an engineering firm formed through a strategic joint venture between CECO Infratech Pvt Ltd and international partners. The company specialises in advanced construction and structural engineering solutions.

Signature Global said the latest investment aligns with its broader strategy to adopt innovative technologies that improve safety standards and build resilience into urban housing, as Indian cities continue to grow taller and denser.
