Indian IT services company Wipro has launched a new technology solution designed to help companies in asset-heavy industries manage shutdowns, maintenance turnarounds and operational outages more efficiently.
The Wipro STO360 solution has been developed in collaboration with Saudi Aramco and SAP. It is aimed at industries including oil and gas, chemicals, mining, manufacturing and utilities.
Wipro said the solution is built on SAP’s Business Technology Platform (BTP) and is designed to provide companies with real-time visibility into critical activities during the Shutdown, Turnaround and Outage (STO) lifecycle.
The company said the platform can help teams coordinate maintenance activities, improve decision-making and identify potential operational risks. Its cloud-based architecture is also intended to help companies improve asset reliability, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
“Asset heavy industries need to embrace AI-led transformation quickly and at scale due to the increasing complexity, regulatory expectations, and the need for operational excellence,” said Vinay Firake, CEO of APMEA at Wipro.
Saudi Aramco said it plans to use the solution to support its turnaround and inspection planning and execution processes.
Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter, Aramco’s executive vice president for technology and innovation, said the initiative could help improve process efficiency and productivity.
Wipro has worked with Aramco for more than two decades, providing services across IT, engineering and digital transformation.
SAP said Wipro STO360 had received SAP Endorsed App status, a designation for partner applications that meet its requirements for integration and enterprise use.
The solution is available through the SAP Store.
Wipro said the platform’s use of SAP BTP provides a foundation for security, scalability and future technology development, including further use of artificial intelligence.
The launch comes as asset-intensive industries face growing pressure to reduce downtime, manage increasingly complex maintenance operations and improve the reliability of critical infrastructure.
