Global investment institution Lighthouse Canton has secured USD 40 million in a strategic funding round led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Nextinfinity, the investment holding company of Shyam Maheshwari, founding partner of SSG Capital (later Ares SSG). Qatar Insurance Company (QIC), an early investor, continues to back the firm’s growth.
Founded in 2014, Lighthouse Canton manages over USD 5 billion in assets across Singapore, India, the UAE, and the UK. Over the past decade, it has built a strong reputation for disciplined investment management, catering to entrepreneurs, family offices, and institutions through wealth and asset management solutions.
This marks the company’s first external fundraise, aimed at accelerating its next phase of growth. The funds will be used to strengthen technology infrastructure, attract senior talent, enhance product capabilities, and expand into high-potential markets globally.
“This is a defining milestone for us,” said Shilpi Chowdhary, Group CEO of Lighthouse Canton. “We’ve built Lighthouse Canton independently with an institutional mindset. With Peak XV and our strategic partners, we are deepening our capabilities and positioning ourselves for the next decade of growth.”
Lighthouse Canton’s wealth management division provides customised solutions for high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and families, while its asset management arm offers institutional-grade investment strategies across public and private markets — including hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and venture capital.
The firm employs over 200 professionals and operates under the regulatory oversight of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The new investment marks a pivotal step in Lighthouse Canton’s evolution as it aims to scale operations, enhance innovation, and strengthen its position as a global investment platform for the next decade.
