Premium kitchenware brand Ember has launched SuperPan™, a new steel cookware range designed to offer easier food release without using conventional synthetic non-stick coatings.

The company says SuperPan™ does not contain PTFE, PFAS or other synthetic non-stick coatings. Instead, it uses TitaniumSteel™, powered by Ember’s patent-pending NanoFusion™ technology, which modifies the cooking surface itself.

According to Ember, the technology uses a high-temperature plasma fusion process to integrate titanium with stainless steel. A microscopic surface texture is then created to help retain a thin layer of oil, which the company says improves food release.

The cookware uses a five-ply construction designed to distribute heat evenly and is intended for high-temperature cooking, including searing, frying and Indian tempering techniques.

Ember said the range is also designed for use with metal utensils such as spatulas and whisks, unlike conventional coated non-stick cookware, where scratching can damage the cooking surface.

Chef Saransh Goila, Chief Culinary & Innovation Officer at Ember, said the product was designed to combine the high-heat performance associated with cast iron with the ease of food release expected from non-stick cookware.

The company said the development of SuperPan™ was informed by research involving more than 120 Indian households. Its research found that while stainless steel and cast iron were widely owned, consumers often preferred easier-release cookware for everyday cooking and cleaning.

Ember said its California R&D centre, led by industrial designer Bret Recor, and its India-based Innovation Lab, led by Chef Goila, worked on the product’s development.

SuperPan™ follows the company’s earlier Arcilla™ ceramic and TitaniumClad™ cast-iron ranges.

The cookware is available through Ember’s website, Amazon and selected retail partners, including Food Square, Food Stories, Epic and Origin, as well as premium cookware and home retail stores across India.
