Wipro Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Kongsberg Digital to develop advanced artificial intelligence-powered digital twin solutions for the energy and utilities sector.
The collaboration aims to combine Wipro’s consulting expertise and its proprietary AI platforms with Kongsberg Digital’s industrial software capabilities. Together, the companies plan to offer integrated systems designed to improve efficiency, safety and reliability across complex energy infrastructure.
At the centre of the partnership is the use of digital twin technology—virtual models that replicate physical assets in real time. By merging engineering simulations, operational data and AI-driven insights, the joint offering will allow companies to monitor and manage assets such as power plants and energy grids more effectively.
Wipro said its AI-driven tools, including its Industrial-AssetsAI and UpstreamAI platforms, will be integrated with Kongsberg Digital’s Industrial Work Surface system. The combined solution is expected to create a unified digital environment where organisations can analyse performance, predict potential disruptions and automate decision-making processes.
Srikumar Rao, a senior executive at Wipro, said the partnership reflects a broader push to rethink how industrial intelligence is applied. He added that combining engineering expertise with AI would help businesses respond more effectively to operational challenges and improve long-term resilience.
Kongsberg Digital’s chief executive, Shane McArdle, said the collaboration would help scale up the company’s existing digital twin capabilities and enable customers to translate data insights into practical outcomes more quickly.
The companies also confirmed plans to develop a joint roadmap to expand the use of AI-powered digital twins across the sector. They say the initiative will support energy firms in accelerating digital transformation while improving performance, sustainability and safety standards.
